Alex Coleman
Senior Solicitor
Alex joined our team in January 2021. Prior to working at Trollope & Co he worked for 6 months in an in-house role as part of a legal team before being admitted to the bar and spending 18 months as a solicitor at Hannan and Seddon in Greymouth. He has a Batchelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Canterbury. Alex is a solicitor working primarily in the commercial and property teams assisting clients with residential and commercial property transactions, leasing arrangements, relationship property, trusts and estate planning including Wills. Following on from his relationship property practice, Alex is keen to motivate parents of young families understand the importance of having a Will so if the worst happens, they have trusted guardians in place for their children. Alex enjoys helping younger clients plan for their futures and enjoys assisting them set up new business and personal ventures. Alex provides employment advice to his commercial and property clients.
Raised in Hokitika he is a West Coaster at heart despite being educated in Christchurch. A keen water skier and tramper Alex enjoys getting outdoors in the fresh air, although he is not opposed to spending some time in the kitchen honing his cooking skills. In a firm of Musicians, he does enjoy going to live concerts and musicals but if expected to be involved would best describe himself as tone-deaf, despite this he is more than happy to attempt karaoke.
